Counseling services for patients and caregivers

Receiving a dementia diagnosis can be a difficult time for patients and their family members. At the Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s & Neurodegenerative Diseases, counseling services are now available to help provide support and tools for coping and handling the diagnosis.

Our neurologists and counselors provide a safe space for patients and their families to discuss concerns and guide them through the steps after diagnosis- at no additional cost.

For our patients and their caregivers, we offer:

  • Individual, couple and family therapy
  • Crisis intervention
  • Future care planning
  • Referrals for long-term care
  • Guidance on programs for individuals coping with a diagnosis
  • Support groups
