Counseling services for patients and caregivers
Receiving a dementia diagnosis can be a difficult time for patients and their family members.
At the Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Diseases, counseling services are available to help provide support and tools for coping and handling the diagnosis.
Our neurologists and counselors provide a safe space for patients and their families to discuss concerns and guide them through the steps after diagnosis.
Counseling services include:
- Individual, couple and family therapy
- Crisis intervention
- Future care planning
- Referrals for long-term care
- Guidance on programs for individuals coping with a diagnosis
- Support groups
