Counseling services for patients and caregivers
Receiving a dementia diagnosis can be a difficult time for patients and family members who are often struggling with feelings of uncertainty, stress and anxiety.
At the Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s & Neurodegenerative Diseases, counseling services are now available to help provide support and tools for coping and handling the diagnosis.
Our neurologists and counselors provide a safe space for patients and their families to discuss concerns and guide them through the steps after diagnosis- at no additional cost.
For our patients and their caregivers, we offer:
- Individual, couple and family therapy
- Crisis intervention
- Future care planning
- Referrals for long-term care
- Guidance on programs for individuals coping with a diagnosis
Patients have the ability to choose the frequency and length of appointments. It is recommended to attend sessions once a week or twice a month to continue conversations and progress.
