Didactics

In addition to weekly supervision with faculty, weekly didactics are held in collaboration with UT Austin Dell Medical School’s neuropsychology fellowship. Other regular and encouraged didactic opportunities include grand rounds and case conferences held across the Department of Neurology, the Biggs Institute and the South Texas Veterans Health Care System.

Trainees are also required to have research productivity and there are multiple opportunities, including ongoing trials and research projects and access to repositories.

Required didactics

UTHSA Neuropsychology Case Conference | Friday’s 8:00am – 8:30am

Fellows meet with faculty, psychometrists and other trainees to review patients seen recently for clinical assessment. Fellows provide a brief introduction to the case and then review all test scores, interpretation, and preliminary differential. This activity can aid fellows in refining their diagnostic skills and communicating clinical findings to colleagues. Moreover, case conference can prove helpful in preparing trainees for ABCN/ABPP Fact Finding.

Neuropsychology Didactics | Wednesday’s 3:00pm – 5:00pm

In collaboration with Dell Medical School at UT – Austin, we present weekly trainings for the first hour followed by another hour focused on professional development, including Journal Club, Board Preparation, and Group Supervision. Over the 2023-2024 year, we will transition to in-person didactics at UTHSA which will occur immediately following Neuroscience Grand Rounds.
