South Texas Alzheimer’s Conference Poster Abstract
As part of the South Texas Alzheimer’s Conference, all conference attendees are invited to submit a poster for awards.
Six awards will be given to the best poster in each category valued at $500 each.
Abstract categories
- Prediction and prevention of dementia with a focus on Hispanic populations
- Precision diagnosis and prognosis through biomarkers, genetics, multiomics and neuroimaging
- Novel therapeutic paradigms, clinical trials
- Comprehensive and supportive care in neurodegenerative diseases
- Improving equity, diversity in healthcare access and training
- Partnering with our communities
- Basic science
*All presenters are required to print, display and remove their poster(s).
Poster abstracts must include the following:

- A concise title.
- Author(s) information, including first and last name and institutional affiliations. At least one of the authors must present the poster during the Poster Blitz event.
- A comprehensive abstract that describes the information that will be presented, including a research objective, methods used, and a summary of results in sufficient detail to support conclusions drawn. The abstract is limited to 750 words.
- Abstract submission topic must be on one of the following topic categories:
- Prediction and prevention of dementia with a focus on Hispanic populations
- Precision diagnosis and prognosis through biomarkers, genetics, multiomics and neuroimaging
- Novel therapeutic paradigms, clinical trials
- Comprehensive and supportive care in neurodegenerative diseases
- Improving equity, diversity in healthcare access and training
- Partnering with our communities
December 26, 2022: Online abstract submission opens.
March 1, 2023 (12am CST): Deadline to submit abstracts through the online form.
March 9, 2023
7:30am-8:00am: Presenters check-in and put up their posters based on their designated location provided at check-in at the Long Campus Commons Lecture Hall.
8:30am-11:00am: Poster session
11:00am-12:00pm: End of poster session. Presenters must remove their posters.
Abstracts must demonstrate:
- Relevance to at least one of the topic categories listed under the poster submission requirements section.
- Technical quality: Exhibit high-quality writing and accurately cite relevant sources.
- Intellectual merit: Research presented must advance knowledge and understanding within a field of study or across disciplines.
