Wear your UT Health San Antonio Spirit Week shirts and sign up to volunteer at our sponsorship table and share the news about our programs and research with those most impacted by Alzheimer’s disease.
Families and pets are welcome. Rain or shine, we will walk to end Alzheimer’s.

Volunteer at our sponsorship table
Available volunteer opportunities include:
Set-up Volunteer: For this volunteer opportunity, you must also be able to be at the event no later than 7:00 a.m. on October 19, 2024, to help set up our table. After set-up is complete, you can volunteer for another volunteer opportunity. You will also need to be on standby at 9:00 a.m. to help break down our table.
Meet and Greet Volunteer: Walkers are very interested in learning more about what programs are available to patients and their families and the latest and greatest in dementia research. Meet and Greet Volunteers are needed to answer questions and distribute relevant patient care materials about programs and services we offer from 7:00-8:30 a.m. After 8:30 a.m., you may join the team to walk.

Volunteers are asked to wear previous Alzheimer’s Walk t-shirts or any UT Health San Antonio shirts.
Sharing your own program materials
You are welcome to share your marketing materials at our sponsorship table if you are also available to have a representative available to volunteer from 6:30-9 a.m. to inform walk attendees of your program/services. Representatives must be available at 7:00 a.m. to complete vendor set-up. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Norene at casasn@uthscsa.edu.
Meeting team members day-of
Team members can meet at the UT Health San Antonio sponsorship table before the ceremony begins at 8:30 a.m.
The sponsorship table will be near the start line along with all the other sponsors. The Alzheimer’s Association will have plenty of signage and volunteers to direct you to the area. The sponsorship area is small so please do not worry, you will be able to find our table!
If you arrive after 8:30 a.m., it is recommended to meet team members at the start line.
Alzheimer's Association t-shirt or promise garden flower
T-shirt
Every registered participant will receive an Alzheimer’s Association t-shirt after achieving the fundraising minimum of $100. (This is a shirt directly from the Alzheimer’s Association.)
Unless otherwise communicated by the Alzheimer’s Association, t-shirts will be available for pick up on walk day.

Promise garden flower
On walk day, you will receive a wristband from the Alzheimer’s Association registration/check-in table. Each registered walker with a wristband will receive a Promise Garden flower. The below colors are available for you to choose based on your connection to the disease.
Blue represents someone with Alzheimer’s or dementia
Purple is for someone who has lost a loved one to the disease.
Yellow represents someone who is currently supporting or caring for someone with Alzheimer’s.
Orange is for everyone who supports the cause and vision of a world without Alzheimer’s.
