About the Speaker(s)

Dennis W. Dickson, MD, is a neuropathologist at the Mayo's Alzheimer Disease Research Center and the State of Florida Alzheimer Disease Initiative and the Society for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Dr. Dickson devoted his career to studying the neuropathology of neurodegeneration, particularly dementia and Parkinsonism. He has authored and co-authored over 650 peer-reviewed papers and 50 book chapters and has evaluated over 6000 brains of neurodegenerative disorders.  He is past president of the American Association of Neuropathologists and has received numerous awards, including the Fred Springer Award from the American Parkinson Disease Association, the Alfred Meyer Award from the British Neuropathological Society and the Potamkin Prize from the American Academy of Neurology.
