Caregiver Skills Training Workshops, offered by the UT Health San Antonio School of Nursing Caring for the Caregiver program, offers three-hour sessions facilitated by health care professionals for family caregivers to have hands-on training on:
- Nursing care
- Occupational therapy
- Nutrition management
- Speech and communication
In addition, participants may choose any three of the below topics for more information:
- Virtual dementia tour
- Dental hygiene
- Audiology
- Physical therapy
- Difficult behaviors
- Urology
Refreshments will be provided. Registration is required.
Our Cognitive Engagement Program is for family members with dementia or another chronic condition. They will be guided by a health care professional in a tailored activity while their family caregiver attends the Essentials of Caregiving classes. To enroll in the Cognitive Engagement Program, please contact the Caring for the Caregiver program at least 3 days prior to class.
This workshop is part of the Caring for the Caregiver program provided by the UT Health San Antonio School of Nursing.
