Diagnosis Required

Two family members with symptoms or a diagnosis of Alzheimer's, mild cognitive impairment, dementia or a related diagnosis.

 

Medication

Not applicable

Families with multiple members diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias are invited to join a national study focused on understanding the genetic risks associated with these conditions. Participation will provide invaluable insights that could significantly advance this crucial research.

Participation includes:

  • Exam and review of personal and family history.
  • Cognitive testing.
  • Blood or saliva sample.

All visits are provided free of charge and will be repeated every one to two years for three years.

Remote testing is available. Participants will receive a $40 stipend for each visit.

Eligibility requirements:

  • At least two family members with symptoms or a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s, mild cognitive impairment, dementia, or a related condition.
  • Three family members willing to enroll (ideally two siblings).

Genetic testing may be offered to the individual with the earliest onset of symptoms in families with young-onset dementia.
